Parking in Ruka
Parking in Ruka
Parking in Ruka pedestrian village is limited during the event. The previous event’s guidance warned that spaces could fill up as early as Friday. Travel to Ruka by event bus if possible; if that does not suit you, consider sharing a lift. If you need your own car, allow time to park and follow the signs on site. Do not block roads, junctions or emergency access routes.
Collect your bib at the event centre in Ruka pedestrian village, Rukankyläntie 6. Every distance finishes in Ruka, but the 34, 55 and 83 km starts are elsewhere. See the Event Guide for getting to the start and Distances for your start location.
Previous parking arrangements as working guidance
The previous event’s guidance named Ruka Parking Hall and the Ruka Ski Stadium parking area (Hiihtostadionintie 2 in the previous instructions). According to Ruka.fi, Ruka Parking Hall has 320 spaces, with entrances from Rukatunturintie and Rukankyläntie. Parking in the hall is paid. Follow the event signs for use of the Ski Stadium area.
This is a starting point based on current information and the previous event’s published guidance. It will be updated if the 2027 event arrangements change. Before travelling, check the Ruka-Kuusamo parking information for current prices, restrictions and electric vehicle charging. The 320 spaces are the hall’s capacity, not an allocation reserved for the event or a promise of an available space.
For starts outside Ruka, choose the start bus from Ruka first, then consider sharing a lift. If you need a car for Oulanka, the working guidance is to use the park-and-ride area at Korpihovi in Käylä, with onward transport to the Oulanka start area as at the previous event. Do not plan to park directly at the Visitor Centre. Read Getting here and the Oulanka guidance. Parking at Napapiiri is limited, and traffic arrangements in Juuma may restrict access towards Basecamp.
