Finnair has some flights between Helsinki (HEL) and Kuusamo (KAO). In case these flights do not suit for Your needs, there are also options to fly either to Oulu or Rovaniemi. Also Norwegian operates to/from Oulu and Rovaniemi.
In case you choose Oulu (OUL) or Rovaniemi (RVN) as your destination from where to continue towards Kuusamo but You prefer to use a rental car option, kindly book the car in advance to wait your arrival. The rental services don’t necessary occupy their airport desks all the time.
Reminder: Oulu is some 250km away from Kuusamo and Rovaniemi also about 200km. Yes, for us living in area these are considered being nearby.

Pohjolan Matka is once again providing transportation to the NUTS Karhunkierros event. You can depart on Thursday directly from Helsinki, Tampere, Jyväskylä, or on Friday from Oulu!
